Alaskan Malamutes



The Alaskan Malamute is one of the oldest Arctic sled dogs, was named after the native Inuit tribe called Mahlemuts, who settled the shores of Kotzebue Sound in the upper western part of Alaska. The origin of these people and also the dogs has never been ascertained.

Tireless dogs, they are used more than the any other arctic dog because of their great endurance and fortitude.

Known to be an affectionate, friendly dog, loyal, devoted, and playful. A great family dog.

Height- males, 25 inches at the shoulders- 85 pounds; females, 23 inches-75 pounds.
