APPALOOSA HORSE BREED
The Appaloosa is a compact horse. They were first bred by the Nez Perc'e
tribe of Washington State. They have a kindly temperament making them good
all-round riding horses.
Height: 14-15 hands
Color: Appaloosa coat patterns can come in an infinite variety--from no spots
at all to more spots than you can count! Some of the varieties of coloring
are leopard (white coat with dark spots), snowflake (dark coat with white
spots), marble (speckled), frost (white specks on a dark coat) and white
blanket (dark coat with white quarters and loins).
Personality: Sensible horses, which are exceptionally easy to handle as well
as being agile, athletic, and versatile. Good at jumping with considerable
stamina and speed over long distances.
