The Ariege Dog finds its origins in France. Probably a cross of the French pointing dogs with other pointers in the south of France. He makes a great retriever hunting dog and is full of energy and needs plenty of room to run. Although he makes a great family dog you will find he is very independent Grooming- since he loves the outdoors regular brushing is needed. Coat type- thick and short. Colors- fawns with speckles of white, chestnut with speckles of white, white with speckles of various colors. Weight- up to 70 pounds. Height- up to 27 inches. Life span- up to 15 years.
