Subject: going from saltwater to fresh
Date: Tue, 19 Sep 2000

Hi. I just got a 29 gallon tank that was saltwater and I am going to use
it as a freshwater tank. I wanted to know how to go about setting it up
correctly so I don't loose any fish.

thanks

Hello,

This is a tough question to answer without knowing what equipment, etc came with the tank. I can give you some general comments. Make sure that if the hobbyist before used corals you remove them. They can be dangerous for
freshwater fish. Your equipment will probably be applicable. If anything
you should have more than you need. You may want to purchase an
ocean visions background for it. Visit our site for details. I would also encourage you to try our food products. Which foods will depend on the
types of fish you are keeping.
Cycling will remain the same as always. Be sure to cycle properly before
stocking the tank full. A thorough cleaning of the aquarium before use is
always a good idea. Do NOT use any type of soap or detergents.
If I can be of further help, please let me know.
