The origins of the American Water Spaniel dog remain a mystery. The dog is a great retriever and has long been appreciated in the United States by the sportsman. Water is no problem for this dog he swims like a seal. He desire to please makes him easily trainable. He is medium in size, 28 to 45 pounds for the males, bitches 25 to 40 pounds, height to 18 inches at the shoulder. Coat - curly, dense with leg hair medium short and feathered.
