English Setter Dog Breed

English Setter Dogs

From the best authorities on the subject, it appears that the English Setter was a trained bird dog in England 400 years ago. Some of the older writings leads us to believe that he had his origins in some of the older of the land spaniels that originated in Spain.

There is some evidence in early writings of sportsmen that the old English Setter was originally produced from crosses of the Spanish Pointer, the large Water Spaniel, and the Springer Spaniel.

A lovable, sweet disposition makes this dog a great companion and home dog. Though it is better to own this dog if you live in the suburbs as it requires plenty of exercise.
