The English Foxhound has been bred along careful lines for over 150 years. In appearance the English Foxhound is far stouter than his American cousin. Hound colors are black, tan, and white, or any combination of these three, also the various "pies" compounded of white and the color of the hare and badger, or yellow, or tan.

Like most hounds this dog is vigorous, loves to run, and a great companion. The breed is affectionate and obedient. He is also quiet and mannerly; his even disposition makes him an ideal home companion, while his attentive nature and solid voice make him a guard dog above many.

Height - 23 to 27 inches. Weight - 55 to 75 pounds.
