Medium-sized dog, in the Mastiff family. The Entelbucher or "little mountain dog" from Switzerland. Name comes from the area Entelbucher in the Canton of Lucerne. Weight 55-66 pounds (25-30 kg). Height is under 20 inches (51 cm). Coat is short, smooth and dense. Color: black and tan (tan always lies between the black and white), with white toes, tail tip, chest and blaze. Tails can be docked.

Used by Lucernese shepherds as guard dogs, also as cattle drovers and general farm dog. His short size makes him a great "all-purpose" dog.

A family dog, enjoys pleasing and being loved by his owners. Gets along well with friends of all types. Easy to groom, as he keeps himself clean also.
