Species Information

Aphyosemion australe

Native to Central Africa: Angola, Gabon, Cameroon and Congo. The Cape Lopez lyretail is a breeding plant spawner which hang their eggs from plants. A spawning mop or fine-leaved plants are used in the tank.

In a favorable environment, it is not a delicate fish. Is very difficult to maintain in aquarium.

Feeds on worms, crustaceans and insects.

Water, pH range: 6.0 - 7.0; dH range: 5.0 - 12.0, temperature 68-70 degrees.
