Paracheirodon Innesi

Species Information

Characin: Paracheirodon innesi

Native to South America: Peru, Colombia and Brazil (near Leticia, Tabatinga and Putamago and Napo rivers). Known as the Neon tetra.

Feeds on worms, small insects, crustaceans and plant matter. In tank, female lays a relatively small number of eggs, which hatch in about 24 hours. Most popular aquarium fish.

Water, pH range: 5.0 - 7.0; dH range: 1.0 - 2.0, temperature 20 - 26°C
