Lighting Preventing electrical accidents: The devices used to create the right environment for your fish,
lights, heaters, filters, are all electrical. There are some rules
that should be followed to prevent accidents. They are: · Make sure that all
electrical appliances are suitable for use with water. They should
be marked so. · Unplug all the wires
before working inside of the tank.
· Circuit breakers may be
purchased at your Fish & Aquarium Shop. They should between the
appliance and the electrical outlet.
· Make sure that the
appliance you buy is (UL) approved.
Your Fish & Aquarium Shop carries a variety of lighting.
The use of fluorescent lights work well. The tubes marked
"daylight" are best and should be as long as the tank.
Fluorescent lights work well with any plants you may want to use in
your tank. Purchasing a timer for the lights will ensure that your plants get the 12 to 14 hours a day needed to sustain them. Again make sure that the timer is (UL) approved for use under water. More Fish and Aquaria Information Here
