Greyhound
An
affectionate breed that loves to be around his family, including
children, the Greyhound is the fastest dog in the world.
Harrier
Similar to the English Foxhound but smaller, the Harrier hound is
cheerful, sweet-tempered, tolerant and excellent with children.
Ibizan
Ibizan hounds are used primarily as hunting or retrieving dogs, but
make good companions for any family.
They are generally quiet and very good with children.
Irish
Wolfhound
The Irish Wolfhound is one of the tallest breeds in the world.
Although the Irish Wolfhound can be clumsy, they are well tempered,
patient and very good with children.
Norwegian
Elkhound
Bred
for hunting large game, such as wolf, bear, and moose. The
Norwegian Elkhound is bold, playful, independent, alert, boisterous,
protective, and makes a great family dog.
Otter Hound
A
large yard is best for the Otter hound. This dog loves to swim and
run so he does require daily exercise.
Rhodesian
Ridgeback
The
Rhodesian Ridgeback requires training and dedication and is only for
the experienced dog owner. They are strong-willed, and exceptionally
clever.
Saluki
Considered
to be one of the oldest pure breeds of dog in the world, the Saluki
is a sight hound, requires a moderate amount of grooming and easily
becomes very loyal to his owner.
Scottish
Deerhound
A
large breed that does exceptionally well with other animals and even
small children the Scottish Deerhound is tolerable and quiet, this
breed makes an excellent child's companion.
Whippet
The Whippet is a breed of hound dog, specifically a member of the
sighthound family. They are active and playful and are physically
similar to a small greyhound.
