Kingsnake
(Lampropeltis Getulus Californiae)

Information

King Snake

This is a California mountain Kingsnake, Lampropeltis getulus californiae. They are generally hardy, some having lived 24 years. They will survive on a diet of rats, mice, lizards, and birds. If they go off their diet you may have to find a few lizards or snakes for food.

They may capture other snakes, even the rattlesnake. They don't seem to be bothered by the bite of the rattler.

This snake may grow to 5 feet long.
