Tibet is the homeland for the Lhasa Apso breed. Known as the "Bark Lion Sentinel Dog", this dog makes a great watchdog.

They have a heavy coat to protect them that is long, straight and thick, sheds a little and should be groomed at least twice a week. Coat colors can be golden, sandy and honey, preferably with black tips on the ears, tail and beard; other colors include grizzle, slate smoke, parti-color, black, white, and brown.

This dog is hardy and easily trainable. His lively though assertive nature is appreciated in the home as well as in the show.

Height- males, 10-11 inches at the shoulders; bitches slightly smaller. Weight- 14 to 16 pounds.

Good in apartment with little or no yard, but has high energy level and should be walked for at least one hour daily.
