The
Neapolitan Mastiff has been a protector in southern Italy since
Roman times. He is a descendant of the ancient Molossus that were brought
to Rome to fight in the arenas.
Neapolitan Mastiff is captivating and commanding.
He is massive and strong, and has nostrils that flare and a broad flat skull
with wrinkles and folds.
The Neapolitan Mastiff is unsurpassed as defender of
home and property. However, he is never aggressive or tenacious with people.
He is docile and even tempered making him a great companion. He is not the
ideal dog for a condo or mini-apartment complex. He needs room to run and
he is
quite the messy eater.
