Rottweiler Dog Breed
|
|
The origins of the Rottweiler is not a documented record. Actual history tempered with reasonable supposition indicates the likelihood he is descended from one of the drover dogs of Ancient Rome. He is named for the southern German town in which he was thought to have originated. This dog is of high intelligence, rugged, dependable, and makes a great guard dog. He is affectionate, very faithful, courageous, easy to train and naturally obedient. His form is compact and powerful, and his chest is roomy and deep. The top coat is of moderate length; the undercoat is not visible. Color is quintessential; a glistening black with well defined rich tan markings. Height: males, 23 3/4 to 27 inches; females, 21 3/4 -25 3/4 inches. Weight: 90 to 100 pounds. American Rottweiler Club (M) Corres. Secretary, Doreen LePage, 960 S.
