Boa Constrictor

Boa Constrictor Information

This snake can reach lengths of 10 to 161/2 feet. Even though this snake is generally peaceful and not prone to bite, it is not a good choice for the beginner .

The strong triangular head is the pronounced feature of this snake. There are many colors among the subspecies and among individual snakes colors range from reddish brown and gray to yellowish, orange and sometimes dark brown.

Temps in the terrarium varies with a cool spot at 72 degrees to the warmer corner at 95 degrees. A slight temp change should occur in the evening hours. A water basin should be provided along with tree limbs. Food consists of live mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and pigeons.
