Cribo or Chicken Eater
(Spilotes Pullatus)

Information

snakecri

Native to southern Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina, these snakes can reach 10 to 13 feet in length. The coloring on this snake is beautiful with a slender body, a yellow background with dark diagonal bands leading to the belly where it is orange to yellow.

This snake eats his own kind, small mammals, frogs, birds, lizards, anything he finds in the trees and on the ground.

In the terrarium it rarely gets tame and is very aggressive and bites without cause. When angered it puffs out its neck vertically and rattles its tail.

Temps should be kept at 75 to 86 degrees and a large water basin provided and daily sunning.
