The Green Snake has been known to exceed 3 feet in length. The Rough-scaled Green Snake can be found in the southwestern U.S. and Mexico. From souther Canada to Texas is the home of the Smooth-scaled Green Snake. The Smooth-scaled doesn't fair well in an aquarium, but his cousin the Rough-scaled does better. Both eat insects , small reptiles both on and off land, though it prefers low trees, bushes, and grass and can be found in thick shore vegetation. In the aquarium/terrarium you should have many branches, a water basin, and peat with a forest soil. Temps should be 77 to 86 degrees, nights should drop but no more than 9 degrees.
