Also known as the East Prussian Horse, was named after the Trakehnen stud in Poland, which was started in 1732. Local Schweiken horses were put to imported Arabs and Thoroughbreds. The best quality Trakehners were kept for breeding with the Trakehnen stud. Trakehners make great mounts for jumping, dressage, and events. Height: 15-16 hands Color: Usually dark, solid colors Personality: Spirited but manageable. |
