Working Dog Group Information
This group of dogs prove themselves everyday by lending a helping hand to their owners. 
Dangerous tasks such as being a patrol dog, guard dog, police dog, or a protection dog are no sweat. 
They’ll gladly do kind and gentle jobs such as SAR (search and rescue), Seeing Eye dogs, hearing dogs, and therapy dogs.

Japanese Akita
The largest of the Japanese Spitz-type breeds, the Akita, is a powerful, solid, well-proportioned and distinctive looking dog. They are excellent house dogs. They require only a moderate amount of exercise.

Alaskan Malamute
Extremely loyal and intelligent, sweet and most affectionate toward its master, the Alaskan Malamute is great with children who are old enough to play with him safely. Generally they mature into a dignified and mellow adult dog. They are very friendly and therefore are not suitable as a guard dogs.

Anatolian
The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is a large, noble and powerful livestock guardian. The Anatolian Shepherd is a very loyal, alert and possessive dog. It is intelligent and easy to train, but is not a dog for beginners.

Bernese Mountain Dog
The Bernese mountain dog is a sturdy, heavy dog, with a beautiful weather-resistant tri-color double coat of black, rust and white. Affectionate, loyal, faithful, stable and intelligent, Bernese Mountain Dogs make wonderful family pets. The majority of Bernese are very friendly to people, and other dogs.

Boxer
Boxers are lively, strong, and extremely loyal. They have an exceedingly high energy level. They carry themselves with pride, but are never arrogant. They have a stoic stance, and are intelligent, loving, delightful companions.

Bullmastiff
The Bullmastiff is 60% Mastiff and 40% Bulldog. It is powerfully built and symmetrical, showing great strength, but not cumbersome; it is sound and active.  The Bullmastiff is a devoted, alert guard dog, with a good-natured temperament, though he tends to be willful.

Doberman Pinscher
Bred for a century to be an outstanding guard dog, the Doberman Pinscher is intense and energetic with tremendous strength and stamina. The Doberman Pinscher is versatile, highly intelligent and very easy to train.

Giant Schnauzer
Easy to train and respond best to firm, consistent training with a positive attitude and plentiful rewards, the Giant Schnauzer is a large, powerful, compact dog with bushy eyebrows, whiskers and a beard. They are very protective, bold, spirited, calm, loyal, loving and responsible.

Great Dane (German Mastiff)The Great Dane is a giant dog that combines nobility with robustness and power with elegance.  The Great Dane is a gentle giant. Dignified, kind, sweet and affectionate, it is playful and patient with children.

Great Pyrenees
Also known as the Pyrenean Mountain Dog, the Great Pyrenees is a large, majestic breed of dog that was used traditionally for protecting livestock (especially sheep) in pasture. It is very gentle with its family and children. It does best with children when it is raised with them from puppyhood.
