Komondor
The Komondor
is serious, confident, alert and commanding. It can be very reserved
with strangers and is very territorial and highly protective of his
family. They need complete and firm obedience training by an
experienced owner, as he can be very willful.
Kuvasz
The Kuvasz are an intensely loyal yet patient dog breed who
appreciates attention but may also be somewhat aloof or independent,
particularly with strangers. The Kuvasz’s independent personalities
can make training a difficult task which can wear on the patience of
even experienced owners.
Mastiff
(Old
English Mastiff)The
Mastiff breed is innately good natured, calm, easygoing, and
surprisingly gentle. It is a well-mannered house pet but needs
sufficient room to stretch out. A Mastiff is an extremely loyal
breed and, though not excessively demonstrative, it is devoted to
its family and good with children.
Newfoundland
(Newfie)
The Newfoundland is a dog with an outstanding temperament. It is
also a patient dog, mild with guests, and obsequious with its
master.
Rottweiler
The
Rottweiler is calm, trainable, courageous, and devoted to their
owner and family. They have a reliable temperament. Protective, he
will defend his family fiercely. Focused and effective training is
an absolute must with this breed.
St. Bernard
The
Saint Bernard is a large breed of dog originally bred for rescue and
as a working dog. A full-grown male can weigh between 150 and 220
lbs. They
are excellent with children and other animals. They have a
protective instinct for their family and make excellent watchdogs.
Samoyed
The
Samoyed dog takes its name from the Samoyedic peoples of Siberia.
Samoyeds
are gentle dogs that are peaceable and dignified. Very devoted, they
tend to favor one person, but love everyone. They are easy-going,
friendly and quite playful. It will gladly be friendly to all,
including intruders.
Siberian Husky
Despite their sometimes intimidating wolf-like appearance, Siberian
Huskies generally have a gentle temperament.
These dogs are gentle and playful, but willful and mischievous. This
cheerful dog is very fond of his or her family.
Standard Schnauzer
The Standard
Schnauzer is a medium-sized, rugged, robust dog with bushy eyebrows,
whiskers and a beard. The Standard Schnauzer is a fearless and
protective dog. It makes a great watch and guard dog.
